Our School
Welcome from our Executive Headteacher
Thank you for taking the time to browse our website. I hope that you find it informative and that it answers any questions you may have. My name is Martina Parsons and I am privileged to be leading our lovely village school as Executive Headteacher. It has been my pleasure to support and develop the school, ensuring that each child at Kidmore End CE Primary receives the best possible education.
Kidmore End School first opened its doors in 1856 to eight pupils. We have grown over the years and we now accommodate up to 210 pupils in seven classes. In August 2017 we became an academy as part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST).
We are a successful school, deemed by Ofsted in 2023
to be Good.
We strive to provide a rich and varied academic curriculum, taking part in a range of sporting and cultural events outside school. Teachers run out of school clubs for pupils in Year One upwards, at present these include art, sport, coding, choir and running.
For children of working parents we offer an after school club (paid) on site from Monday to Thursday. A Breakfast Club is also available.
We have close links with the Church, particularly our local church of St John the Baptist, and community and it is our aim to provide a warm and caring learning environment, based on Christian principles.
Pupils, parents and staff from many faiths have commented that they feel comfortable with the accepting, valuing ethos of the school. The most recent church school inspection in September 2016 found the school to be good with outstanding leadership and management.
Our school is in a delightful setting and the children are fortunate to be able to play on the large field, traditional playground, adventure playground, all weather pitch and quiet garden. The children in Foundation Stage have their own outdoor learning area complete with builders' yard and mud kitchen.
As Executive Headteacher and with the Leadership team, we are committed to ensuring Kidmore End CE Primary School aims for the highest standards and as a small village school becomes a thriving, happy and outwardly facing community school serving our local community and beyond. We believe in family and hope that Kidmore End is one happy school family focusing on what is best for our children and community.
I hope that you enjoy browsing the pages of this website which describe the school in more detail. If you are thinking of sending your child here, why not come and see the school for yourself? We regularly hold open days when you can hear more about us and see for yourself what we do, you will find the dates and times in our admissions section. I look forward to meeting you then.
Yours sincerely
Ms M Parsons
