Ms Joanna Moriarty

Interim Chair of Governors

I have a long history of involvement with Kidmore End, and it is dear to my heart. My daughter Izzy, who is now 25, went to school here, and I was a Governor, and then Chair of Governors, until 2017. I live in Caversham, and I work in charity recruitment. I’m also qualified as a National Leader of Governance.

I’ve been asked by ODST to be Acting Chair of Governors for a short time, while you find a successor to Ms Myers and Mrs Allen.

I’m sure a lot has changed since I was Chair, but I have the sense that the same positive spirit, and a willingness to make a contribution to the success of the school, is still here. I’m excited to help support the school, and give our children the best start they can have.

I now sit on the board of ODST, Chairing the Pay and Personnel Committee, so I’ve kept up with how Kidmore End is doing from a distance. I’m delighted to be working alongside Ms Parsons, who does great work at St John’s, and we’re very grateful for her support and leadership while Mr Griffin is on sick leave. Between us we want to continue Mr Griffin’s work in taking the school forward.
