School Meals

Each day School Meals are prepared by 'Miquill' staff in our on-site kitchen.

Meals are provided free of charge for Infant pupils (Reception to Year 2). For Junior pupils (Years 3 to 6), meals are available at a cost of £3.00 per day.

All school meals must be ordered via your MCAS app.

Orders must be placed by Sunday for the following week, although meals may be booked in advance up to the end of the half term.

If a meal has not been pre-ordered, parents/carers are kindly asked to ensure that their child brings a packed lunch to school on that day.

Free School Meals – Information for Parents and Carers

From the start of the 2026/27 academic year, the Government has expanded eligibility for free school meals (FSM) in England.

If your household receives Universal Credit, your child may now be entitled to a free school meal regardless of your household earnings. This includes children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6).

Why should I register?
Registering for free school meals helps ensure that your child receives the support to which they are entitled. It can also help your school receive additional government funding. This funding is intended to support pupils' education and can be used for measures such as additional teaching, targeted academic support and wider support to improve educational outcomes.

There are now two relevant categories for children in households receiving Universal Credit:

Expanded free school meals
Children in households receiving Universal Credit can receive free school meals regardless of household earnings.

Targeted free school meals
Children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual net earned income of £7,400 or less qualify for the targeted FSM category. This category is used to determine eligibility for Pupil Premium and certain other disadvantage-related support.

How do I apply?
If you think your child may be eligible, please download the application form below or contact the school office for help.
Your application will need to be checked and your eligibility confirmed by the school or local authority before free school meals can be awarded. You will need to complete a form from the office and renew this each Full term.
